how do i join a gang ?
you have to get invited by the gang leader mate then when you bring up xbox live press RT til you come to gangs then it will say gang invitation click on that and you can accept or decline

Your in the wrong section of the forum, this is SR1 MP.
To answer your question that has been asked hundreds of time and answered plenty of times as well.
The only free roam is in coop with 2 players. If you are thinking free roam like GTA4, then no there isnt.
