Modifying Reload Speed

Not much else to say. I'm sick and tired of using my XS2-Ultimax, reloading, and then firing as soon as I see the reload animation finish, only to discover it didn't reload all the way.



For the uninitiated (or those pussies who don't use shotguns {good-natured humor}), the XS2-Ultimax' reloading works as follows:



1) Player Reloads

2) Reloading animation plays

3) Reloading animation finishes

4) 0.5 Seconds pass before the ammo indicator actually shows the weapon as reloaded



It may not seem like much, but when you're running through a strip club populated with a bunch of Ronin dorks lining up to nibble on the end of your shotgun, it makes for a very irritating break-of-pace when you take the time to reload, and end up having to reload a second time because you fired a fraction of a milisecond too soon.



So my solution was to edit the value for Reload Time in the weapons.xtbl...except I didn't find one. So my question is:



Is reload speed based on the length of the reload animation? Or is there a value or variable somewhere in the editable files that can shorten reload time to a more appropriate value?

Far as I know, reloading, throwing, and melee weapons get most of their timing from the animations. I think you can switch the reload animation to a different weapon's animation though.

Animation time can be shortened or lengthened in preload_anim.tbl located in your sr2 install directory with the exe. RedRage did this with his original release for the dual katanas when he made them much faster. My guess is that something there is the key to the timing for the xs-2.
