What's good about it? Nothing. I'm completely with Quoisy; it's just a cheap attempt to get more money from a failing company and is an attempt to appeal to younger audiences. Kinect is not for the proper gamer.
*Six months later, when SR3 was revealed to use Kinect technology, Rebel read back on his post and kicked himself in the head *

Personally, I won't be getting Kinect at that price point. I'm still very interested in the technology and using it, but not at $150 over the cost of the console. The same goes for PS Move as well.
Don't get me started on 3D...

I like the idea of it but, are there any "proper" games for the likes of us?
I can't help thinking Nintendo Wii for some reason...

It's basically the Wii, except no controller. the same goes for the PS Move (which uses a controller). It's targeted more for the casual gamer, the people are interested in the Wii. But with at price I don't know if they will accomplish that. The people I mainly see buying this are the mothers/grandmother who get whatever for their kid/grandkid. I'm sure they will advertise this like crazy and it will be release around the holidays. As for J's question, Are there any "proper" games? No. At least not that I have seen on the kinect. It's all the same kiddy type sports games you would expect on the Wii, except with better graphics. If I had to pick which motion control device I'm more interested in, I would probably say Playstaions Move. They showed a couple cool looking demos in the past, but still nothing that would have me running to the stores to go buy.

I just get the feeling that this technology is so pioneering it'll end up doing a Beta Max...
I will say though that it gives me high hopes for what's to come...
When the "proper" games start to emerge like SR, GTA, MW, Gears and the like this is going to bring a whole new dimension to us all...
The price needs to come right down and the Wii type games are of no interest to me, I haven't even got a Wii in my house...

I just got one for my wifes birthday. We have just been messing with the Wii resort games. She enjoys them, it's fine if I play those game with her. I don't see myself playing them on my own. She's waiting for Just Dance to come in from gamefly.

Kinect is £130? I will be rushing to the stores to get it when I've lost my mind.
I just don't want to play a game by waving my arms around and kicking my legs. Espically if I'm tired/stressed after work, it's the last thing I want to do.

I have, it's bearable but nowhere near a finished product really. They've rushed it and released it before it was anywhere near finished. I bet it's something to do with EA.
