If Volition used their SR3 engine in another...

I thought this might be a bit of fun to think of some good uses for Volitions open world engine and comedic game stylings. Basically just discuss what kind of game we'd love to see if Volition were every to do another open world game.

First thing I thought of would be a pirate game based on multiple island with different port towns in and some secret islands. You could take on other pirate ships or the navy but it could be a comical and weird take on pirates, each ship you buy would technically be your crib and it would make for some brilliant co-op play. Minigames range from drinking, axe throwing and looting.

Another thought I had would be to have a game based on medieval times where you start off as a peasent who is wronged by a corrupt baron and you have to build a band of bandits and take him down getting new hovels and castles as you advance. Minigames could be sword fighting, jousting and catapulting. Outfits could range from peasant, commoner, arsitocrat, knight, jester and executioner.

Any thoughts?

You know thats a pretty good idea I would like them to probably do a sci-fi sort of genre because you don't tend to get any sandbox gameplay with those or much customisation to this extent.

Well EA said at some point they want to resurrect the Syndicate series as they hold the rights to it, if they do I hope it's a free roam game and not an FPS.

But that would make a good sci-fi style open world game.

Yeah I guess but i'm really put off by EA they cash cow and just repackage everything they do. By far they are one of the worst gaming companies out there.

Ah! here it is: TBA – Untitled Syndicate game (a.k.a. Project RedLime) Being developed by my favorite swedish company, Starbreeze studio, just because of that i will have to rent this game if it is for consoles aswell.

@Gantons Yeah EA are a bunch of sniffling weasels, them and there stupid DRM Bullshit.

as for the topic: A futuristic city based Sandbox game.

70's could be good, maybe a warriors style game but with their own characters and location. Personally also I'd love to see a game of theirs based in england with english style cars maybe in the 60's with all mods and rockers.
