V-Singular]Does anyone not actually use their phone, as a phone? Mine is more of a pocket PC, and I tend to e-mail / text everyone. The only people I really call on the phone are family members, but with all of my friends / acquaintances, I pretty much just message them and then we do something. Much easier.
I think last month I only used 43 minutes on the actual phone if I remember my bill correctly and probably 15 of those were spent on hold waiting for customer service lines.
Yeah I agree, I mean, my contract is unbalanced because I don't phone anyone. 100 minutes, and unlimited texts + 500MB of internet downloads. Plus, I would get an iPad, but I'm waiting for (and I'm not trying to be offensive here) the USD to go down in value a little bit. wrote:

I think the actual products themselves are great (smart, Droid, etc) it's just the way that everywhere you go there are kids just walking around staring and stroking at their hand. They aren't looking where they are going or what they are doing...
To me they just look like addicts or drones...
When I first used to go to Glastonbury people never even had mobile phones, then they started popping up here and there. It wasn't long before people were wandering around with one stuck to their ear bleating "where are you?" or "We're over here" and that looked pretty odd to me. Then of course there was the invention of text messaging, that started off the trend of people walking around blindly staring at their hand. I was a guilty perticipant of all of the above by the way...
These smart phones have taken it all to a completely new level. The last time I went to Alton Towers (theme park) it seemed like half of everyone there was just staring and stroking at their hand completelu dumb struck and ignoring the people they were actually there with...
These days I have gone back to the original use for the mobile phone. The reason 90% of users gave to their nearest and dearest for buying their first one and signing on that dreaded dotted line. In the early days we all just bought them for emergencies LOL...
It is actually a very liberating thing to do. DUMP that thing and try it out, it's a great feeling...
