Guilty as charged. =)
Cut my teeth on D&D back in the early '80s (which should give you an idea of my age,) and have had an on again/off again relationship with rollin' the bones since. While I've played and enjoyed a variety of genres, far and away my favorite were the tech-centric backdrops (Cyberpunk 2020, Shadowrun, Rifts, etc.) I'd be RPGing currently... if I had a group that could get together regularly... grr...

I started out playing AD&D and Megatraveller at University in the late 80's, since then progressed through all sorts... including Cyberpunk, Rolemaster/MERPS, Space 1889, Call of Cthulu, Star Wars and Warhammer FRP. My current gaming group is rotating through Pathfinder, Exalted, oWoD Vampire and Dark Ages games depending on which players are available... and it's not unheard of for me to dig out the Shadowrun books and take a turn as GM from time to time.

Yo man.... you needs to approve my PSN friendship request man... And if you lived anywhere near me, you would be more than welcome to come join our group. I still run 2 seperate CP 2020 games on at least a weekly basis and play in another... I definitely plan on statting up the Stag vehicles, the Kaneda, and the Peacemaker for my game, they will show up on DF 2020 when I get around to it.

I don't have any interest in fantasy anymore since half my group moved to Colorado, taking WFRP 2 with them... but several of the people in my group play in other games including pathfinder, 4e, and even one who still plays Rifts... and yes we relentlessly make fun of him for it.

Ha. =D
Man, Rifts had SO much promise... they built a REALLY fantastic back-story and mythology for the game. Unfortunately, the way the rules are written, it lends itself to power-gaming WAY too readily. (And this, from someone who bought the game at launch!) The whole SDC / MDC damage mechanic was out of balance in the game. When you have flesh-and-bone characters toting weapons that can punch holes in tanks and mecha casually slung on their hip, it can make it difficult to write a well-balanced campaign.

Could have been worse.... it could have been the Judge Dredd system. (To quote the old White Dwarf cartoon; "Halt! ...or I'll stun you for two phases!") But I'll hold my hand up and confess to playing RIFTS... I put up with the flaws because I loved the 'Juicer' concept and I still remember the look on the rest of the players faces when I got hit by a mega-damage pistol shot (unarmoured) and survived because my character's SDC was through the roof! As old school Shaundi would say: "Good times."

We're gonna be starting a World of Darkness campaign (Vampire, Werewolf, Changeling, Mage, etc.) So far, the background is interesting; Germany, early 1930s. So, pretty much, right before the sh!t hits the fan. ;-)
