SR3 was just a movie. Boss, Gat, Pierce and (old) Shaundi were watching it in a cinema. Credits begin to roll and the Boss exclaims "What the **** was that ****?", with Gat replying "I can't believe they killed me off."I'd dig a retcon like that.

If the Killbane ending is the real ending SR 4 will start with the country of Steelport being bombed to hell with nuclear warheads by the US military.

If the Save Shaundi ending is the real ending SR 4 will start out with the Boss, Pierce, Shaundi and Gat (who will be revealed to be alive in DLC) skydiving into Las Pene (Volitions version of Las Vegas) while mounted on cybernetic bears that have eye lasers while fighting off an army of luchadors riding on cybernetic air-sharks as you assualt Killbane's casino.

Killbane will die when the Boss jams his butt up agains one of those mega jumbo slot machines and pulls the lever, winning the jackpot.  The coins that pour out will overload Killbane's body causing him to explode in a shower of meat chunks and Gat will make a sarcastic remark about inflation.

Killbane Ending: The Saints have become mobsters, running the city of Steelport through shady tactics and politics. It starts with Pierce giving a speech at city hall with a few of the Saints in attendance. The boss spots a red dot focused on Pierce's chest and pushes him our of the way just in time. Panic breaks out but the boss manages to spot the assassin in the chaos. He leaves Pierce with Oleg and chases after the assailant. This leads to a car chase where the boss has to shoot out the back tire of the motorcycle, causing the assassin to crash. The boss questions the assassin at gun point. Askng who sent him, the assassin's only reply is a "F- you." The boss shoots him in the head and walks away.

It will start off completely different from SR3, like it never even happened. The boss is about to assasinate the president until- BAM! Armed secret service agents come in and start shooting the MC, then the MC (being the invincible tank he is) kills them off with a pistol and then jumps off of a building and parachutes onto the presidents limo, shooting through the roof of the limo. Then he says "**** this" and plants c4 on the limo and jumps off, gets up and walks away while the limo explodes. 

Pierce comes to the rescue and picks the MC up, while their being chased by cops, secret service, the army, the national guard, the marines, and STAG. 

Then throughout a whole series of events, the MC magically becomes president of the U.S. and declares war on every other country (except...Canada?) and somehow wins, and then the Saints rule the world.

Knowing Volition, I wouldn't be surprised if that happened...
