I'm on this level and for some reason I can't get the tires out on the truck before my godforsaken idiot of a companion blows the ****ing thing up up with his laser turret. I can't get in a truck with only small turret and can't seem to get around the stupid thing to get the passenger front tire before Pierce kills the computer.

Is there ANY alternative I'm missing here, or do I just have to redo this over and over and over until I get lucky? It's starting to make me mad now after five fails because of a moron AI.

I had problems with this one on my first try as well. 

 

First you drive straight forward towards the truck. You can try to shoot the tires on the left side of the truck on this with the machine gun, but my aiming usually isn't good enough. Once you're closing in on the truck, first drive slightly left behind the truck and take out the left tires. Aim as low as you can. Then drive slightly to the right behind the truck and do the same. If the tires aren't getting damaged then either your aim is off, or something's blocking the machine gun. After a change in approach I managed to get the tires within 20 seconds of the start of this part of the mission. 

 

If Pierce shoots the truck then that's bad luck. It never happened to me before. Not even on Hardcore mode.

The truck can take a lot of punishment and the beam is quite powerful, but only if it does continuous damage. If he quickly moves the beam over it it shouldn't do much damage. Since you're continuously focussing the machine gun on the truck it's much more likely that you desrtoy it instead of Pierce.

Yeah but where's the challenge in that? :D
