Saints Row 3 (Steam) - Startup White Screen

I was very eager to play the game when it was finished installing. When I clicked the launcher, however, I got a white screen. I saw the thread below about the problem and tried it (along with almost all Steam Support recommendations), but it seems that no launcher - the shortcut, the actual game_launcher, DX11, or the DX9 version - will remove this white screen. I know it's not a technical problem because I double- and triple-checked the specs to the game's requirements and recommendations.

If you have ANY idea at all what might be the problem and what might fix the problem, please share. I want to play this game so badly.

Hmmm...   Two months and no reply.  Doesn't look good.  I played it fine on one computer, but when I got a new computer the game won't run for me either.  I got a gray rectangle with the title "Saints Row: The Launcher" that I could move around.  I tried all the verify integrity and uninstall and delete local files and reinstall and they didn't help.  The rectangle is smaller than the DX9/10 or DX11 selector window I got on my other computer, and I can move it around with the moust and close it by hitting ESC, but no other keys or mouse clicks seem to do anything.  I completely reinstalled windows and still no good.  I tried various compatibility settings, still no good.  I'm running Win 7 64 bit professional and have a 560 Ti video card with 2MB FYI.

One thing I noticed is that before reinstalling windows, running the saintsrowthethird.exe and saintsrowthethird_dx11.exe seemed to quit and run the launcher.  After all of this for some reason I can now run the direct exes and get the first two movies, then a window saying "Saints Row: the Third has stopped working".

You reinstalled windows but are you still using the same video drivers? Try using the Nvidia beta 64-bit drivers (301.24 - www.geforce.com/drivers/results/43883).

Can you both post a DxDiag report saintsrow.com/community/go/thread/view/1.... If you're using 64 bit versions of windows follow the instructions in DxDiag thread but instead wait until the green progress bar has disappeared and click "Run 64-bit DxDiag" then "save all information" and then post the results here.
