PC users must be given the option to disable...

I've sent support requests to both Steam and THQ to see what they suggest.

I read on another forum that you can request for Steam to remove certain dlc from your account.  Then you can uninstall and reinstall the game without that dlc.  I doubt they will give a refund for it but at least its a fix!

Yes but we shouldn't have to, both should give the option as to what DLC we want active at the time

Personally rather than being able to disable the DLC, I'd rather the ability to toggle these abilities on/off in the phone menu. In fact I'd like to have that for a lot of the abilities, to make things easier. For example, I don't always WANT to duel-wield handguns, but once I buy the upgrade, I'm stuck with it.

In case anyone on this thread wants to utilise it, there is a mod that removes the effects of the Bloodsucker DLC from your save game, HOWEVER, it removes the cash and respect bonuses that used to be purchaseable through the phone (And were toggled on by the Bloodsucker DLC) PERMENANTLY, meaning you won't be able to buy them at all. I am told that they aren't massive boosts, and aren't required by any means, so that's not a real problem however.

You can find that mod on this thread:

www.saintsrowmods.com/forum/index.php?th...

You're looking for IdolNinja's v2 of the mod.

I've fixed the Bloodsucker DLC!!!

Find the file here

I've managed to alter it so that all the perks will REMAIN locked until you decide to purchase them. You can also CHOOSE to purchase the Bloodsucking ability, or you can KEEP the neck snap ability.  It can also be used with older saves, providing you download the save editor.

Seriously, this was about 15 minutes of work progress (probably stuck 4 hours overall into figuring this out, but then I hardly knew what I was doing) and an hour of testing, why didn't Volition do it themselves?

Here is the perk list:
Bonus Cash Boost 1 (Respect level: 2 Cost: 11, 500) Bumped this up to level 2
Bonus Cash Boost 2 (Respect level: 13 Cost: 17, 500)
Bonus Cash Boost 3 (Respect level: 34 Cost: 22, 250)
*Bonus Cash Boost 4 (Respect level: 40 Cost: 27, 000)

Bonus Hourly Income 1 (Respect level: 4 Cost: 3,500)
Bonus Hourly Income 2 (Respect level: 11 Cost: 10, 000)
Bonus Hourly Income 3 (Respect level: 20 Cost: 17, 000)
*Bonus Hourly Income 4 (Respect level: 27 Cost: 25, 000)

Respect Bonus 1 (Respect level: 7 Cost: 6, 000)
Respect Bonus 2 (Respect level: 15 Cost: 13, 000)
Respect Bonus 3 (Respect level: 30 Cost: 21, 250)
*Respect Bonus 4 (Respect level: 35 Cost: 30, 000)

Scavenger 1 (Respect level: 4 Cost: 3,250)
*Scavenger 2 (Respect level: 10 Cost: 9, 000)
*Vampire Neck bite (Respect level: 3 Cost: 5000)

*I increased the price on these by roughly the same increment as the previous levels, and put the level at where I thought they'd best be

Hello!

I bought Saints Row The Third during the sale these past days along with a bunch of the DLCs figuring it would be value for the money spent.

However as soon as i was throught the intro missions and in the flat i had a lot of stuff popping up telling me about stuff that has been unlocked, weapons and vehicles and stuff, i even had "taken over" a territory without doing anything.

I did not want to take over a territory because it said "taking over territories" will finish all the stuff i havnt done there yet, but i havnt done anything?

My conclusion is that getting all the DLCs has really broken the game for me.

Sure i can live with having the weapons and vehicles available, thats all good fun but without doing a single mission except the intro i already have a lot of respect, over 40k in cash and a territory.

How am i supposed to play the story mode when the mechanics dont see me as "new in town"?

I got the game early but was never able to play it due to my computer until recently, I never got to even see the neck snap used in the game because that bloodsucker pack replaces it.

If there are checkmarks in the game, they should just let us click these checks and uncheck things like the bloodsucker, or uncheck weapons upgrades for example.

Hmm, does that mod effect to Takeover Assist and vehicles too so that I'm not forced to takeover any part of the city or that I don't get vehicles before I burchase them?
