What is the point of new Homies? What is there to do once missions are completed?

Hi everyone,

After just playing through the Gangstas in Space DLC and unlocking more new "homies", I found myself shaking my head at how pointless doing so was. Is this meant to be an incentive to buy more DLC? What exactly can I do with 'Space Brutina' outside of incite a police riot and watch her smash a few things? I can't go back and play earlier missions which could be potentially made more entertaining by these new additions that did not exist at that stage in the game on the initial playthrough.

I just feel the inclusion of more homies and even new homies toward the end of the main story line are completely pointless as you don't really have any use for them once there are no more missions to play. Sure it's funny to watch them smash a few cop cars and whatever, but that novelty wears thin pretty quickly.

I'm just echoing what everyone else has said before, I know, but I felt like a rant. I just paid good money for 3 missions and a few additional characters who have NOTHING to do. How are you guys managing to stay interested in the game? NOW SASHAY AWAY.

I don't know. I haven't got the slightest idea what was going through the minds of the people planning this game's DLC. It stinks.

In the description in the DLC on PSN "Trouble With Clones" it says somewhere in the end, "You might be able to save a lost friend"

*******SPOILER********

Not really saving a lost friend? Hes not really Gat is he? Just a Brute with new skin and no funnyass 1liners...

So ye DLC does suck, wasted my cash last time I ever DL DLC for any SR titles if they're going to be like this, I prefer SR2 DLC much more better and destructive!!!!!!!!! >:D

Maybe they are there to provide variety in the Boss' running crew during future replays or for importing into a co-op partner's game or, in the case of the extra brutes, give one an entire party of heavy hitters if one so chooses even before Oleg joins up?

You don't have to be psychic to predict the obvious.

I think it was just a good idea to release them. Characters were modelled and textured, there were no memory restrictions, so is there any reason why they sholdn't been given to gamers? If they're ready, then they're ready.

You've pointed out an interesting thing. For some time I've started to ask myself the same question. Take a look at forums. It's really hard to find a positive post! In *almost all* of the threads people complain, rant, mock, compare SR3 to SR2 and concluide that SR2 is far better in almost every aspect.

So why I'm not playing SR2? Why do I like SR3 so much, why do I keep coming back to Steelport and don't even think of moving from there? I'm not a kid who looks for a cheap excuse to watch t&a and smack people with purple ?@$#*, so that's not an option. Maybe it's just because I like this game the way it is, not how could have been?

Also please, don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to tell you that all those disappointment voice aren't legit. I *do* see those DLCs prices and their content, which - for the most part - should have been part of campaign rewards (and there's no way I'm buying those). I miss laser weapons and superpowers, would much rather see Steelport with beaches and shopping malls. I also don't understand completely why they had chosen such a stupid business model (I didn't believe my eyes when I first saw Spec Ops Pack a.k.a. three new textures for something like 2,50 EUR) But those issues don't prevent me from enjoying Steelport like any other sandbox.

Homies are extremely pointless which is why I hated the "Dealing With Clones" dlc. Instead of wasting time making characters homies they could instead be making more weapons and outfits which is more so on the popular demand. Or even beginning to work on their next game...!

I have to agree with Zeomun. There's little to no use for any of the new Homies, vehicles or Items unlocked/awarded AFTER finishing DLC content. You can't replay any old missions apart from the final one and any possible future DLC you download ($$$ for little further gameplay).

As far as i can tell, there's no way to replay/restart the game story without losing all your homies, vehicles etc, and from what i've seen you can't join someone else on co-op and use your newly acquired items unless they too have that content already (no using space Brutina to help someone still on the Zombie Island mission). I really don't see what else i can do in Steelport with my new content aside from just wandering around pointlessly in sandbox, or waiting for the next DLC pack to give me at MOST 30 minutes of gameplay (along with new Homies - AT THE END - which i then won't be able to put to much use until i purchase the next DLC). SIGH.
