This is going to be a disaster.  Volition has finially gotten such a big ego, they think we will buy anything that they come up with.  I've been loyal to SR since the first one came out.  SR: TT disappointed me with their "kinder solutions" and way-too-wierd ideas.  Now this?  Who the hell would want THIS?!?

Awesome news as far as I am concerned! Why? Well, because I honestly believe that, given the crap, anemic, overpriced DLC that Enter the Dominatrix would have been a highly over-priced expansion at $30.00. So, rolling it into a BRAND NEW GAME next year and for a mere additional $20.00 you get the "expansion" plus the full SR4, sounds like music to my ears! I am SO HAPPY to hear this.

Hey all you naysayers, you want to read my absolute, unequivocal, unimpeachably FAVORITE PART? I am going to cut and paste it here big, bad, and bold to mirror my excitement. You read? You sure? Well here it is...

When it comes to Saints Row, it’s clear our fans want bigger, better, and even more over the top...

Well that's BIGGER, BADDER, AND MORE OVER THE TOP! Oh freaking yeah!! Volition really is listening to us!!

**** you. You are the biggest hypocrite on the forum. First you complain about how you are mad a Volition, yet you kiss their ass when you say this. YOU types of people are the reason why SR is going to ****.

You may just be retarded.

He is quite clearly speaking in sarcasm, you blithering moron.

According to money/financial sites, THQ is taking a loss by allowing Rubin to cancel ETD in order to combine it with SR4. So seeing as how THQ is willing to take the loss, it means they're putting a lot of faith in Rubin's plan and I really don't think they would unless they really felt it was going to be a huge payday.  I'm betting they take SR3's formula and then just expand upon it in a big way, meaning crazier activities, wilder weapons, more sci fi elements, more levity, and possibly a bigger map, crazier gangs, and maybe more options to customize the characters or cars or whatever.

That could either be really good, or really bad.

I'll wait until it comes out (Or we get an actual trailer that won't become obsolete halfway between the trailer's release and the game's release.) to pass judgement, though.

Guess I will be the one to call this out.  Who is willing to bet that ETD will be day one disc locked content?

The way SR3 was chopped up and served in smaller portions of DLC makes me very suspecting that just such a thing will be done.

Come on THQ, new management now, right?  Prove me wrong.  Do it!

All i want in SR4 is EXACTLY what was in SR2, Good Story line and not over the top stupidy like SR3, Yea SR3 was fun, but it felt way to stupid, Volition should of just made SR3 a completely different gang game, and nothing to do with saints, cuz it didnt feel like one.

I know Volition thought it would be cool to go over the top in SR3 but it wasnt in the end, and if Johnny isnt back for real in SR4, its gonna make alot of SR fans annoyed incliding myself, cuz i think its safe to say that Johnny was the reason SR 1 & 2 were amazing.

Kinda hope the story line for 4 is that, the 1st Mission Boss is in bed and wakes up and SR3 was all just a dream and nothing else.

Dont let us down volition, We can forgive you for SR3 if you make SR4 SR2 material.

MLeonhardt, to be quite honest, I was not beiong sarcastic. I absolutely LOVE SR3 and have been addicted to the game, in all of its glory, since it launched. I will get into more detail answering Pissed off below:

That's because you're a troll creating a Straw Man argument. You are intentionally (or perhaps unintentionally?) misrepresenting my position to make it sound like I am saying something I CLEARLY am not. I will try this again for your bnefit, honey:

First, I love ALMOST everything about SR3. I love the game, the wildness, the over-the-top insanity, the new weapons, the storyline, the dialog, etc. Not happy about killing off Gat and Shaundi, but since you NEVER saw bodies, there is wiggle-room for Volition to bring them back. I still play SR3 to this day and I expect to be playing it for YEARS to come.

Second, I COMPLETELY disagree with Volition's DLC releases and I think that most of them, including the Season Pass, for anyone who paid for them, are a rip off.

So try to pay attention here: BOTH conditions can be true. I am NOT angry with Volition at all. Just because I disagree with the way they structured most their DLC doled out to be low on content and too overpriced does not mean I have anything intrinsically against the actual game.

So how did I deal with this? Well, simple: I still continue to play the game, BUT I bought the DLC packs that interested me, which were few and far between, and I passed on the ones that did not. So, if you're actually paying attention, I can be insanely excited about Volition remaining true to the insane, over-the-top, wild gameplay of SR3 in the sequel AND at the same time be pretty "meh" about the DLC.

Cue your next response, which should be another long string of obscenities. lol Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

Ok...........Now I love the fact that Mr Rubin is going to Volition the resources and time needed in order to create SR4.  This is something you do not normally see.  Case in Point.  EA and Bioware regarding to the rushed ending of ME3.

So, Mr Rubin, thank you for providing Volition the time, resources and financial backing to create SR4.

Now the pessimist in me strikes.  We all know of SR3's faults.  Which are many.  Fans screaming that SR3 really does not fit in the SR lore (comparable to SR1 and 2).  In regards of ETD, this is a continuation of the idiotic pop culture rip off (Matrix referenced here) that was in SR3.  While SR3 was amusing the first play through, lost interest fast. So let me understand this correctly, the problems with SR3 and the story that fans have pushed back against are going to continue with ETD and SR4?  Am I understanding this correctly?

If I may make a suggestion Mr. Rubin.  Do not allow them to make SR4 just another SR3 and charge $60.00 for the game upon release in order to recoup the monies.

I am curious here though.  Hey Deadly, who is writing the story the SR4?  Same guy as SR3?  Is there any other work the lead writer for the story has done that we can check out?

And on a closing note:  Volition,  remember Story > Over the Top.  Got it?

These are perfectly acceptable opinions, but they are just that, opinions! Many of the fans LOVE the over-the-top. So in my opinion:

Over-the-top >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Story (and yes I meant to type in all those "greater than signs).

Many people want SR4 to continue the insanity of SR3 and take it up a notch...or ten.

lol I want the Big dildo to be bigger and Dildoer! I want the apocophists to knock down buildings! I want the VTOL's to have thermonuclear devices with which to level a city block, leaving it in rubble and then I want to hear about the nuclear blast on the radio. Then, when I fly from the area and come back thirty seconds later, I want the area to be fully repaired and pristine like the aforementioned nuclear attack never happened!

Hahahahahahaa Well, okay, maybe not all that necessarily, but that is the general direction I want them to go.
