As topic. Really loving SR3. To be honest, i have never played SR1 and SR2 and i think im falling in love with this franchise because of SR3. SR3 is the best co-op game i have ever played in a very long time. This is a game that i can really have FUN with.
Now, im referring to the quote "Saints Row should be our Skyrim" by the new THQ President Jason Rubin where he expressed disappointment with the direction Saints Row: The Third had taken in terms of adult humour, which he felt could limit the franchise's success.
Why should he be disappointed? THIS GAME IS REALLY GOOD! I mean, as a newcomer to the series, i personally feel that Saints Row SHOULD NOT be serious. Why be another Skyrim or another GTA? Why so serious?? GTA used to be about having fun. Now its just another game trying hard not to be a game.
I really love the direction that SR3 is going. I mean COME ON!!! which game allows you to run naked and hitting people with dildos, drive a tiger around the street, and blow **** up like a boss IN AN OPEN WORLD WITH A FRIEND IN CO-OP????
So please, please, please make SR4 a wild game, maybe even WILDER then SR3! DON'T NEUTER IT!!! Tell your game designers, story designers to just go wild. We NEED such crazy open world games :D
I have no idea hows the sale for SR3, but im hoping it makes alot of money for you guys, cause ya'll really deserve it. I really hope you can put in more of this insane creativity you've shown in SR3 into SR4.
P.S. Please give my sincere thanks to the guys who ported the game to the PC. I think they did a FANTASTIC job compared to GTA4 which rockstar totally raped for its PC release. Now if only us PC users can have a FOV option and the ability to mod the game, i'll be as happy as a clam :D
Cheers~

Maybe you should try SR2 to see how could a game can be lol I agree, SR3 is a good game by itself. But really, it changed the saints row series. SR2 wasn't too serious, the characters joked around a good bit with each other, reminded me kind of how the Grove Street families messed around with each other and made fun of each other in GTA:SA It had a good in depth story AND still had some silly moments. Like for instance, one of the activities was Septic Avenger, where you go around town spraying poop on buildings, statues, and pedestrians. So SR2 was goofy too, but they just kept the goofyness in the activities, leaving room for an enjoyable story mode. I think it would please everyone in SR4: Activites should be goofy Story Mode should be serious and dramatic Cause It seemed like in SR3, they mixed in the goofyness with the story line, and they even made the activities part of the story. They forced you to do activities, which was annoying because they used to give you the freedom to do activities whenever you like (ie: when exploring the city) Plus, you should check out Stillwater (the map from SR2) it's awesome. Of course if you play SR2, keep in mind it is a 4 year old game, so just be aware of the fact that it might not be as technology on the same level as todays games (as far as the game engine goes) but graphics and stuff like that is really trumped by gameplay

"I'm new to the series".
Yeah, posts like this irritate me. Compared to SR2? Saints Row 3 is just... eh.
Trying to be more supportive with the series.

I really think that SR: TT got way to over the top. Like it went past my limit of sillyness.

Hello newcomer, please play the original games. I think you'll find them quite enjoyable. on a more unfriendly note: its noobies like you who try to change a game to something completely different. Sorry to burst your bubble man, but Saints Row isnt meant to be some kind of polar opposite/revenge game for people upset about how GTA is too "serious" now. Or simply put, some kind of retreat from GTA. Its already its own thing, and even the devs seem to be having trouble remembering that..

it wasnt even really a GTA clone to begin with. Thats just a term jealous GTA fans came up with because a new sandbox game came up. It was unique in its own way. of course, people have always compared it to GTA, but we the fans never cared. Its only now that SR has gone down the nutty road, people are all "oh, SR is finally something different" or "its not a clone anymore". these are the kind of people who really tick me off..

In my opinion Saints Row 2 is much better than Saints Row The Third, because it's the perfect combination of seriousness and fun. Also there are some dramatic moments! And the Protagonist is a sociopath, who isn't care if he/she is killing some one. Whereas Saints Row The Third is trying to be funny with some silly sex jokes and a purple Dildo O.o The Protagonist is become to a media whore!

Wow, i knew i didn't have much of an arguement against every one of you who supports SR2 against SR3 since i never played SR2. So what i did was buy SR2 and played thru that, and guess what? I STAND BY MY DECISION that SR2 is a piece of crap compared to SR3.
Every single one of you who supported SR2 obviously are looking thru nostalgic glasses. I MEAN COME ON!!! LOOK AT THE THING!!! SR2 IS A TERRIBLE CONSOLE PORT!!!! YOU CAN'T EVEN USE THE GODDAMN MOUSE on THE MAIN MENU!!!
Don't even get me started on the vehicle handling. Instead of feeling like driving a car, i feel like i was turning the world instead when i was doing my car cornerings. The GPS system was a piece of crap, always having that stupid lag before it gave you a route, and even then its not even a very good route.
Bugs ridden everywhere, eg: that mission when Veteran Child was holding Shaundi at gunpoint. One minute he was holding her hostage, the next minute he teleported to a staircase, shooting like a cowboy ALONE with Shaundi hiding in a corner AND I STILL GOTTA use a flashbang. seriously wtf.
SR2 is a technical mess compared to SR3 seriously. If it weren't for how good SR3 was and how i wanted to know the characters backstory, i wouldn't have touched SR2 with a thousand foot stick.
To be honest, the only thing going for SR2 is the story which i admit is alot more fleshed out and darker compared to SR3. At least now i know alot more backstory about the characters.
Though, it gave me a bad impression of some characters. (Eg: Shaundi....the girl obviously looks more like a drugged out hippie then her current cool look in SR3). Johnny Gat is cool tho, really felt his revenge when he smashed that Shogo guy on the tombstone.
I dunno man, im kindda torn here. While i appreciate the deeper story in SR2, i kindda miss the insane story in SR3. SR2 story just felt too GTAish for me. It just wasn't as insanely funny as SR3. Technically tho, SR2 cannot hold a candle to the greatness that is SR3. If anyone of you are still thinking that SR2 is a better game, im sorry but i think something is seriously wrong with you.
PS: I'm discussing about the PC version btw, never touched the console version, so hey maybe SR2 console version is better.
